“An environment-based education movement–at all levels of education–will help students realize that school isn’t supposed to be a polite form of incarceration, but a portal to the wider world.”
― Richard Louv,
Last fall we had the opportunity to host our very first Group exchange. It was a chance for folks to connect with new friends around the country and incorporate the Nature Pal Exchange program into their classroom or with their naturegroup. We saw photos of children gathered around their instructor as they dissected owl pellets sent from new friends. Beautiful handcrafted, nature inspired cards made by children detailing their surrounding environment for their pals. The list could go on! Not only are we thrilled that Spring is literally just around the corner but today sign-ups are open for the 2017 Spring Group Exchange!!
If you are familiar with our exchanges, this one will basically run in a similar fashion. Signups will be open March 13-17th . The fee to participate is $25. This fee will go directly to Nature Pal Exchange. You may choose to split the costs with your group, but we ask that the group signs up as a whole. DO NOT have each individual in the group signup. Once signups close we will begin pairing up the groups. We will do our best to pair up groups from different time zones, but with this particular exchange it is not a guarantee. This particular round of Nature Pal Exchange is only open to groups/classes located in the United States & Canada.
ATTENTION! We have revamped our sign-up process. Follow the link to our new SHOP. Add the “Spring Group Exchange” to your cart, once you have successfully checked out the sign-up link will be automatically emailed to you! BE SURE TO FILL OUT THE FORM! You will receive your pal information within two weeks via the email you signed up with.
We not only encourage adventure and discovery, but creativity as well. Friends, you may take all creative freedom on how you would like to prepare your nature package. You may wish to collect items as a group, or if you are signing up your classroom, you may request that each student bring in an item or two that they collected with their family. The beauty of Nature Pal Exchange is that there are so many educational “rabbit trails” you can follow. Be inventive and have fun!
Please visit our About page for information on how to safely and responsibly prepare your nature package. Nature Pal Exchange takes pride in educating our participants in the safe handling and mailing of nature items. All packages need to be mailed by April 17th.
